Last but certainly not least, we are happy to introduce Dr. Reshma N. Singh as one of our panelists. The panel discussion will be taking place on Sunday May 26th in the Shaw Conference Centre Saloon 2.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Guyana in 2006, Reshma Singh spend three and half years working in the food industry as a Quality Control and Assurance Chemist. In 2009, she became a graduate student in Dr. Jed Harrison’s research group at the University of Alberta. Her Ph.D. research focused on the detection of small molecules using silicon and cobalt nano columned-thin films and LASER desorption/ionization.

In 2015, she joined Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) as a Research Participant working on an Alberta Innovates grant entitled “Addressing food quality challenges in Alberta’s aquaculture industry”. Her focus was the detection and quantification of off-flavour compounds using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. In 2016, Reshma became a Federal Postdoctoral fellow at AAFC’s Lacombe Research Centre, with her work switching to the detection and identification of flavour compounds in meat.
